WORDS FROM THE MATRON

Being a member of the Order can be rewarding to those who are seeking true sisterhood.  One must remember that what you put into this organization is what you will get out of it. Tabitha Chapter is a diverse group of women with different spiritual, educational and professional backgrounds.  We provide a plethora of resources that compliments the overall success of our sisterhood understood focus. Our chapter is dedicated to community outreach through facilitating numerous service, charity, and educational projects as well as global awareness: for example Breast Cancer, Aids, Homeless, and Cancer Research.  Our social club: Pure Diamonds host monthly activities where we fellowship with one another and mix & mingle with other social clubs that assist with funding our annual community outreach projects.  Through spiritual beliefs, friendship, charity, love, and kindness the shared experiences and life lessons definitely will be obtained with the membership of Tabitha Chapter.  Our mutual aspiration is to show that women can work effectively and cohesively in the spirit of sisterhood and Service.

Tabitha Chapter No. 1, Order of the Eastern Star was chartered on February 2, 2002 under the affiliation of M.W. St. John Grand Lodge A.F. & A.M. and St. John Grand Chapter, O.E.S.  On March 3, 2018, the chapter affiliated membership with M.W. Spence Cook Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M. and Serenity Grand Chapter, O.E.S located in Dolton, Illinois.  On December 19, 2019, Tabitha Chapter joined two other subordinate OES chapters and organized Isis Grand Chapter, O.E.S. to later affiliate with M.W. Hiram Abif Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M. State of Indiana.  From this adoption, Grand and Subordinate charters from the Supreme Grand Chapter, OES was granted on February 22, 2020.  In April of 2023, Tabitha found a new home at M.W. King Cyrus Grand Lodge, A.F. & A.M. and Sheerah Grand Chapter, O.E.S.  Tabitha Chapter received their charter on October 6, 2024.
